Messy Adoption Could See Child Returned to Mother, says New York Family Lawyer

They could not have children of their own so they did the most amazing thing anyone could do: they adopted. They plucked a fragile life from the air and breathed new life into a baby who may have been lost forever, said a New York Family Lawyer. And now the child may get taken away - and it may be the right thing to do. The couple adopted the baby boy not realizing it was not up for adoption. The sad tale begins four years earlier.

The mother was arrested trying to enter the United States of America illegally. She gave her son to her brother, said a New York Family Lawyer. The brother then gave the boy to a sister. The sister then handed the child off to a local church. From there, the church arranged an adoption and the boy made his way to America. It appears that everyone who acted did so in good faith, as there was no indication that anyone wanted to purposefully steal the baby from the birth mother.

When the natural mother found out about the entire ordeal she got into action and tried to get her child back, noted a New York Family Lawyer. She had never consented to the adoption and the boy was hers! Now, the supreme court of Missouri will decide the child's fate, notes a New York Family Lawyer. No, there isn't a chance they'll cut the boy in half. The standard will be a simple one: what is in the best interest of the child. But, immigrant and minority rights groups have made this a battle ground, with care for the child taking a back seat to whatever political message is deemed more important,

Adoptions are tricky and often messy if done wrong. If you're thinking about adopting, contact a New York Family Attorney today.

Photos of Duct-Taped Toddler Released, Reports New York City Family Lawyer

Now that a teen mother and her boyfriend has been convicted of duct-taping her 2-year-old son to a wall, the photos that started the case have been revealed, a New York Family Lawyer reports. The child was removed from his mother’s custody, but has since been returned to her. She has an 18-year-old woman who has admitted to using drugs.
At the time of the abuse, she was only 17 and received 10 days in jail and 2 years of probation for the crime, while her 19-year-old boyfriend was sentenced to three to five years for child abuse and another 12 to 24 months for felony possession of stolen firearms.
While under the influence of drugs, the mother held the child in place, while the boyfriend taped him to the wall of their home, authorities told a New York Family Lawyer. The photographs depict the boy taped by his wrists to the wall. There is also one with his smiling mother holding the boy, his hands wrapped up in tape, and another with the boy’s sippy cup taped to a wall, just out of reach. He is crying as he tries to grab the cup.
A friend of the mother, “who didn’t find anything funny” about the pictures, was the one who turned them in. She asked to borrow the camera, then took it straight to a police station, sources told a New York Family Lawyer. Police found marijuana, drug paraphernalia and stolen weapons in the open and in places where the child could reach them.

Ex-Wife of “Law and Order” Creator Claims She Was Cheated, New York Family Lawyer Reports

The ex-wife of the creator of “Law & Order” claims she was cheated out of what could have been hundreds of millions of dollars in her divorce settlement, according to a New York Family Lawyer.
It is her contention that the management company “negligently and/or purposefully” concealed “substantial assets” of the marital estate “prior to the commencement of and during marital settlement proceedings,” or so the court papers said, according to a New York Family Lawyer.
She also says the company, which managed the assets of her ex-husband, did everything “all for the benefit of Mr. Wolf in order to protect their interests in continuing to manage his assets.”
According to her, her advisors did not inform her that the company which she owned with her husband would continue to earn royalties and merchandising for “Law & Order” and it spinoffs. She also says the company’s value was understated to her when the couple decided to split in 2002.
She says they told her the show would make about another $8 million, which is far short of what the show has actually made and continues to make. The company has not commented.
