Elizabeth Moss is taking the final steps to make her separation from Fred Armisen permanent, New York Family Lawyers have learned.
The actress famous for her role on “Mad Men” filed for divorce from the “Saturday Night Live” comedian in Los Angeles, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the dissolution of their marriage, sources told a New York Family Lawyer.
The 28-year-old actress reported the date of her separation as June 26, 2010, only eight months after her quiet marriage before family and friends in Long Island City. Sources told New York Family Lawyers that she also seeks to terminate the court’s jurisdiction to award spousal support to Armisen.
“They had issues,” a source told a New York Family Lawyer. The same source said Moss’ ties to the Church of Scientology was also a factor in the split-up.“Her religion was as important to her as the marriage, if not more,” another source told a New York Family Lawyer. “He could not get with it.”
Not long after the separation was announced in August, it was reported that Armisen was already dating his 23-year-old “SNL” co-star, Abby Elliot. “Fred sought comfort in her after the split,” the source added.
