Births, marriages, and divorces are big milestones in life. There were a few less of these major occurrences in the lives of Americans in 2009, according to the findings of a New York Family Lawyer.

The birthrate in the United States fell yet again in 2009, detailed in a report by the National Center for Health Statistics. There were 13.5 births per 1,000 people last year, while the rate was 13.9 births per 1,000 people in 2008. Both of these were lower than the 2007 rate, which was 14.3 births per 1,000 people.

Not only births saw a decline in numbers, but the number of marriages and divorces also dropped in 2009. According to reports assessed by New York Family Lawyers, there was an estimated 6.8 marriages per 1,000 people in 2009. The marriage rate was 7.1 per 1,000 people in 2008 and 7.3 per 1,000 people in 2007.

In what could be a very expensive settlement, Jerry Hall and Stone’s legend, Mick Jagger are divorcing says a New York Family Lawyer.

Dina Manzo of the reality show “Real Housewives” revealed her real reason for leaving the hit show – fear of losing her daughter, a New York Family Lawyer reports. A Bohemia man is being held by police after accusations that he stole money from the Make-A-Wish Foundation using the routing and account numbers on a check written to pay for a family trip to Hawaii for his sick son, according to reports from a New York Family Lawyer.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation provided a check for the family trip, but the 50-year-old father used the account information on the check to pay, $1,500 in bills, New York Family Lawyers learned from Suffolk police and the foundation. He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of stealing the money.

The man was driving with a stolen New York driver’s license and was impaired by drugs, police sources told a New York Family Lawyer. According to police, he was also found with a forged Suffolk County Parks permit and a handicapped parking permit that did not belong to him.

The 64-year-old divorce lawyer, who has represented clients including Joey Buttafuoco and Jessica Hahn, has a criminal contempt charge before him in Glen Cove court.

Former Gov. James E. McGreevey has to pay child support but not alimony ruled a judge in the sordid divorce case between the NJ Governor who came out as a gay man and his wife, Dina. Their marriage collapsed when he admitted that he was a “gay American” and had had an affair with a staffer. The staffer subsequently said that he was harassed and was not a willing sex partner of McGreevey’s.

According to a Queens Family Lawyer, McGreevey is studying to be an Episcopal priest and is claiming that he has little income and cannot pay.

The McGreeveys have been estranged since 2005. He resigned as govenor in 2004 admitting publicly that he is “a gay American” and that he had a sexual relationship with a man who worked on his staff. The staffer is on record and has averred that he was sexually harassed McGreevey.

Celine Dion, 42, is now pregnant with twins. Even after five failed IVF attempts, she continued fertility treatments and even took advantage of other alternatives such as acupuncture. Her sixth fertility treatment was finally successful. Dion never gave up hope, however, and she is now fourteen weeks pregnant, says a New York Family Lawyer. Celine then had weekly sonograms for a time where she could hear the heartbeats of the twins. Now during her second trimester, she is faithfully following her doctor’s orders . She would even be willing to accept medical advice of bed rest until the twins are delivered which should be sometime in November of 2010 if she carries the twins to term. Thus far bed rest has not been deemed necessary.

The past year has been stressful for the singer as she traveled from her home in Florida to New York to obtain fertility treatments. The long process has affected Dion both physically and emotionally but she does have family support including her husband, Rene Angelil. Angelil has made a comment in regards to how difficult the treatments have been on his wifeís body . He also knew that Celine was determined to achieve her goal of becoming pregnant and expanding her family. The twins will be joining Dion and her husband as well as her nine year old son, Rene-Charles, reports a New York Family Lawyer.
