Dugard Kidnapping Case Expects Guilty Plea

A young girl was abducted and kept in a hidden compound for 18 years. The man which is alleged to of kidnapped her and fathered two children with her by rape, is in court on Thursday. It’s likely that he will plead guilty which will at least give the girl and the family a small amount of justice says a New York City Family Lawyer.

The girl was kidnapped when she was 11 in 1991 and held, locked up secretly for 18 years. The accused is already a convicted rapist with a long criminal record explains the NYC Family Lawyer. The man was convicted of kidnapping and raping a girl in 1977.

The girl disappeared while she was on her way to school and his caused her family a great deal of distress.

Divorce doesn’t have to Mean Refinancing

Many divorced home owners find it very difficult to remove their name from their mortgage agreement. After buying out the equity stake in the house, the only option that many people have is to refinance according to a New York Family Lawyer. There is however, a much easier option that can help you to avoid the costs and difficulties with refinancing.

Refinancing can actually cost as much as 3-6% of the outstanding balance on the loan. There is however an easy way to avoid this cost. That’s to ask your lender to remove the other partners name from the loan which will leave the loan in only your name. While this sounds very easy, it’s not actually something that is possible with all lenders. This is known as a release of liability and normally they will need to do a separate credit check on both parties at the time of taking out the loan. They will also normally require both people to agree the changes which could be difficult in some divorces.

Another Hollywood Marriage Bites the Dust

Friday, January the 28st 2011 marked the end of a marriage made in Hollywood heaven, said a New York Family Lawyer with inside information. Actress Eva Longoria and her NBA superstar husband Tony Parker terminated their three-year marriage in a courtroom in Texas late last week.

Although anyone who has been following the media storm over the last few weeks which has surrounded the couple knows that the split occurred as a result of Parker’s now infamous infidelity, the divorce petition Longoria submitted to the court flagged irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split. In Long Island and Westchester County, divorce cases are handled in a similar way.

Ironically, the state that brought them together was also the state where the storybook marriage came to a dramatic close following Parker’s extramarital tryst. Longoria, who is originally from the Texas town of Corpus Christie, fell for Parker, who is one of the star players for the San Antonio Spurs. On the mend after her painful divorce from Tyler Christopher (of General Hospital fame) in 2004, she fell for Parker. They were married midyear in 2007. The New York Family Lawyer we spoke with said it is not uncommon in the wake of a divorce for unhitched couples to go back to their roots to seek comfort and safety; likely one of the reasons Longoria became involved with Parker.

Mother jailed after children fall from top of a car, a New York Family Lawyer explains

A woman was put in jail after her children were injured after being awarded for good behavior. The mother attempted to award her child who helped her clean the house, a

New York Family Lawyer mentioned.

The 8-year-old and 9-year-old children were taken to the hospital after they fell from the trunk of her car. One of the children is in serious condition. The other child was released from the hospital. Only two of her children fell from the car. It is unknown how many children the woman has.

Mills a ‘Gold Digger

Michele Elyzabeth claims that Heather Mills for whom she once worked is a liar and has misled her and everybody else on the planet as far as what kind of person Mills is. This comes a few weeks after Michele stopped doing publicity for the former wife of Beatle Paul McCartney.

Elyzabeth says that false stories about McCartney were leaked by Mills and that she even has Paul’s phone bugged. She recorded conversations and played them for the then publicist. One of the recordings was between McCartney and his daughter. Mills wore gloves so that her finger prints would not show up.

In the tapped phone conversation with his daughter, Stella, Paul complains that Mills is driving him nuts with her craziness. Elyzabeth comes to the conclusion that Mills was in this for the money alone. The gold digger came out on top as she was given a 50 million dollar settlement back In March when the divorce was granted. NY Family Lawyers in Nassau and Suffolk Counties have taken note of this particular case and are aware of the outcome.

Bill Attempting to Reform Child Custody Laws

According to a prominent New York Family Lawyer there is a new bill proposed which could revamp the child custody laws? This will force judges to offer equal parenting time to parents unless one is said to be unfit for parenting.

The state is trying to make child custody laws much fairer. If both parents are loving and fit then they should both be involved. Two parents are needed to raise well rounded children.

There are a large number of supporters of this bill. It says that it would prevent many fathers from being nothing more than visitors to their child’s lives. Instead they will be able to be part of their life. This will also make the child’s life much more stable.

McCartney divorce judge berates Mills-a N.Y. Family Attorney can protect you

Heather Mills was taken to task for her behavior in the divorce hearings with Paul McCartney. The judge said her testimony was “inconsistent and inaccurate.”

The judge said that she was not very impressive as a witness and this is something that Mills did not want publicized.

On the other hand, the judge said that McCartney handled himself in an admirable way during the six-day hearing.

Dad Left Child Alone with Loaded Weapon

Police have recently charged a man in a worrying case where he left his child alone with a loaded weapon. The man went out and is alleged to of left his five year old daughter alone in the house with a loaded gun explains a New York Family Lawyer. This left his child in extreme danger of being killed, or injured.

While adults will understand that these weapons are dangerous and should not be touched, Children will not. A 5 year old child would not know that the gun wasn’t a toy which is what makes the case even more dangerous.

The 44 year old man was arrested for operating machinery under the influence. The arrest was made during the early evening of March 19th. The Police report has since been obtained by the NYC Family Lawyer.

Child Support Hearing

A child support hearing was held in Atlanta Georgia in late January, in the wake of the brutal murder of the child’s mother in the spring of 2009, said a New York Family Lawyer with knowledge of the case.

The boy’s parents, who the New York Family Lawyer said were involved in a protracted custody dispute, were making a routine custody exchange in the parking lot of a Target chain store in Snellville, Georgia in April of 2009 when the murder occurred. Investigators said that the boy was present at the scene, and hid in his mother’s parked car at the time of the incident.

Present at the child support hearing, which took place on Monday, January the 31st, were the child’s father, as well as the parents of the child’s deceased mother. This hearing comes close on the heels of a custody trial for the boy, which took place in June of 2010 and awarded custody of the boy to the mother’s parents. It is not known why custody was not awarded to the father. In Manhattan and Queens, the mother is usually awarded custody.

Missing boy found after a two-month search

An 11-year-old boy, who had been missing for two months according to his mother, was finally found with his father after a long search by authorities.

A N York Family Attorney said the boy had been visiting his father on his usual weekend when his father took him for fear of being arrested. The mother and father have had joint custody since their divorce a year ago.

The New York Family Lawyer went on to explain the man had allegedly not been following all of his divorce stipulations. On the weekend he had his son, he learned there was a warrant out for his arrest. The man reportedly sped away in his car with the boy when he saw a deputy nearby.
